About Sam Barber

Born Samual Issac Barber, he began his career as a Producer and Director shooting sports documentaries at Wild Sports Competitors Inc.

In Los Angeles he worked with production houses large and small including PTS Studios, Production Centre West, Woodholley Productions, and CBS Television. He also pent a year on the old Warner Brothers lot working out of Jack Warner’s offices.

He had an ongoing relationship with The United States Olympic Committee in multiple capacities and was a consultant to The People’s Republic of China.

Wild Sports Competitors Inc. shot and produced in Hawaii, Colorado, and Florida with an array of companies and corporate sponsors. He Co-produced with Century III at Universal Studios Florida, and companies in Florida with a studio based at Chapman Leonard Studios and then C-III at Universal Studios Florida.

The first events shot by Sam were the Red Zinger Classic, the Flamingo Open, the Estes Alpine Classic, and The Coors Aspen Sports Festival.
Sports shows were packaged and sold to foreign markets.

He was the producer for groundbreaking IRONMAN WORLD TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIPS underwater coverage portions, which the small crew shot WHILE he was a competitor. He was a producer and also a competitor in dozens of premier sports events.

Sam was the producer and originator of the film The Blair Witch Project (1999) which was developed at Chapman Leonard Studios in Florida.

Noted for being one of the highest-grossing and “scariest” horror films of all time. And in relation to original funding, which was around $50,000, the most profitable film of all time.

Called a genius for his feature film work and awarded numerous times for his work.
